David spent his very early childhood in his mother’s womb and the rest of it on the southwestern most part of the Northeast which sounds more exotic than Long Island.
He attended Wheatley high school where he still holds the record for the most consecutive years in Spanish Two. (3) He went on to not graduate from Suny Purchase college, but only because he didn’t go to his classes or do any of the work associated with them. He then went to LA where he studied acting and, interestingly, returned to his mother’s womb in a number of sense memory exercises. His short films are by any measure significantly shorter than long films and have been twice nominated for the audience award at the Tribeca film festival. David received his masters in dramatic writing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he did manage to attend some classes. He has taken this new found dutifulness into his life as a director, which may explain why he has been nominated for two DGA awards and has an Emmy and many Cannes Lions to his name. He still cannot speak more than three words of Spanish.
